Wonders of the Solar System

07/19/2011

I just saw something very interesting in a BBC documentary "Wonders of the Solar System" That in a billion years or so(if we could possibly survive that long), the people here on earth will no longer be able to see the cosmic microwave background radiation thingy proving the big bang.   (think because  space expands and galaxies and light move further away).

They will either stick to established knowledge by then(unimaginable what would be known by then), or disprove it, because it no longer stands up to scientific observation.... believing something false... or fall back to times as we did as early humans....religion and the works.
They will see themselves as the centre of the universe again as we did until 500 years ago or whatever it was....based on what they can see and prove at that point.

We happened to evolve in just the right time in the universe to truly understand how things got started. Now, what happened b4 that may never be solved, but we are getting close and I suspect we will see earth-shattering discoveries in our life time. Inevitable really, considering the almost exponential increase in technology and information.
