(I find myself in need of my muse,
So my ideas may light the final fuse.)
I find myself with desperate might,
Guarded only by a small, shimmering light.
A light that I shall claim as my muse,
My thoughts endlessly burning, like an eternal fuse.
The fuse sparks forward to reach it's goal,
An explosion of thought, I hope will unfold.
To allow me even the smallest of chances...
To touch base on my mind and it's crazy, dark dances.
How could I ever hope to explain,
That which lies beyond the terrestrial plane.
My guides are many, though I feel unworthy,
Of company so great, lessons that surely....
Will open my eyes to the ways of old,
My guides' stories, for centuries told.
Leading my mind in an attempt to break through
And bring forth what's been seen by far too few.
Of all great things, pain and loss are the source....(w/o an ultimate low, there can be no ultimate high)
Inspiring those weakened to seek a far better course.
Along a path, both narrow and wide,
The path of life, with nowhere to hide.
A sun-bathed hilltop, showered with light...
Led Dante from darkness, ready to fight.
Against his own self, his country...his friends,
To find the mystical path, to which there's no end.
His words were guided by friends of old...(guides referenced earlier....ancient/medieval authors)
With "divine" intervention, his vision(story) was told;
Teaching us that, in order to have peace...
We must prepare our souls for a permanent lease.
A lease which requires and enables our soul,
To tour the dark recess, the infernal hole.
In order to know what is right, good and true....
We all must view hell's dampening hue.
Seeing the world through this veil of tears,
Will eventually bring forth many joyous years....
Realizing true beauty, which covers the world,
After going through torture and being hurled....
To a place where no beauty could ever exist,
Upon leaving however, we're shrouded in mist.
A glorious fog. Appreciation soars...
For everything seen and experienced, as well as much more.
to be cont'd
